Our CEO, Vernae Jones-Seals, is passionate about contributing to the community and she is committed to the ongoing development of aspiring leaders. We are pleased to share the launch of 2018’s Virtual CFO course designed for business leaders driving growth and expansion in their markets.
The 2018 course starts in March and is available through Prince George’s Community College Continuing Education Program. In addition to the learning opportunity, the Virtual CFO course provides local, small and minority business enterprises access or an increase in access to financial capital through networking. Virtual CFO combines financial management training with business support services that allow business owners to implement financial management strategies, processes, and procedures and make sound financial decisions that help their businesses grow, expand and succeed.
Vernae conceived the course a few years ago as a direct response to feedback from many clients, colleagues, and partners searching for practical, relevant and timely access to education and tools to help them create financial plans for their organizations. Whether for-profit or non-profit, small, medium or enterprise businesses, the need to define sound strategies for increasing capacity, building a sustainable infrastructure and understanding implications of business decisions applies to all leaders. The vision for the Virtual CFO course is to educate, train, and empower.
The course theme is “Creating a Financial Plan for Success,” and classes cover:
- Strategies for Business and Financial Management
- Managing Cash Flow with a Financial Plan
- Key Performance Indicators and Metrics
- Benchmarking and Forecasting
Sustainability is also a central focus, and the course includes real-world examples, tools, and tips for succession planning, strategic, program, and tactical plans, and driving innovation to continually fuel growth.
In addition to access through the PG Community College (PGCC), OneSource offers webinars and can provide the full course outside of the 2-time per year Fall and Spring community college semesters. If you are interested in learning more about the course and how you can sign up or participate through our webinars and individual sessions, please contact Laura Osburnsen at lmosburnsen@onesourcesbc.com, and we’d be delighted to learn more about your interests.
